Tomoko Bailey

President 会長
From 1991 to 1992, I worked as an assistant at a high school in Michigan, USA, teaching Japanese language education. This experience, coupled with my repeated challenges and frustrations learning foreign languages, led me to seek active and effective learning methods. My hobby is reading, and I enjoy science in general.

This year marks the 28th year since our founding (West Point Grey Japanese Class). Our class started with just one child. Coming to Canada has made me realize the importance of being grateful for and cherishing the people we meet. I hope to continue being an explorer who gives dreams and hope to children with infinite potential.

My name is Kayo Saborio and I am a teacher at Surrey Japanese Language School. I have only been a part of JALTA for a few years, but last year I was entrusted with the important task of organizing a celebratory event for JALTA’s 50th anniversary. With everyone’s help, the event resulted in a success. I am still fairly new, but I will do my best to continue to improve to demonstrate my deep appreciation for the valuable connections I have made with others in JALTA.
